SUMMARY:Howard's Ride 2016: 8th Annual Bike-A-Thon
DESCRIPTION:This an annual fundraiser\, organized by the Buena Vista Cycling Club (BVCC)\, is in honour of Howard Willems\, who was a tireless social justice advocate and avid cyclist. To date\, BVCC has given back over $25\,000 to our community\, this year\, the event will be raising funds for the Core Neighbourhood Youth Co-op. \nThe adventure begins with an approximate 17 km ride from the start location to the beautiful Beaver Creek Conservation Area. It is the microcosm of the Meewasin Valley\, and contains one of the few uncultivated short grass prairie sites in Saskatchewan. We will enjoy the sites and have a snack before heading back to the starting point\, in the city. Afterwards\, there will be a BBQ for all the riders. Trucks and drivers will accompany the BVCC Bikers to provide rides for anyone wishing only to cycle a portion of the 35km loop or if there are mechanical problems. Riders are encouraged to collect donations from friends and family to pledge your ride. Receipts for pledges of $20 or more will be issued. All proceeds will be going to CNYC. \nRegistration: 9:30 AM\nDeparture: 10:30 AM\nRegistration Fee: $10.00 (includes a CNYC membership) \nFor more information\, or to confirm your participation\, please contact: Brenda Baergen\nEmail: baergenb@sasktel.net or at (306) 665-0398
