United Way’s Day of Caring is an opportunity for our organization and the individuals we serve to benefit from volunteer contributions provided by individuals from various businesses and unions in our community. This year we are excited to partner with RBC for our 2016 project: “Clean Up the Core”! Spring cleaning at CNYC has become a bit of a tradition, and RBC volunteers will help get the place in tip-top shape from the inside out.

Putting wheels to social justice! This is an annual fundraiser in honour of Howard Willems, who was a tireless social justice advocate and avid cyclist. This event is to help raise funds for the CNYC. The bike-a-thon is a leisurely ride from our starting point to Beaver Creek Conservation Site. We will enjoy the sites and a snack before heading back to the starting point. There will be a BBQ afterward for all riders. Registration is $10. All riders are encouraged to collect donations from friends and family to pledge your ride.

Meet at CNYC at 1pm June 28-30 for walks along the beautiful South Saskatchewan River. Youth will get to select a branch and learn to shape it into a walking stick for their next hike or camping trip. Our camp coordinator will also share the Seven Grandfather Teachings and will invite youth to participate in storytelling.

Join us for our Arts and Crafts workshops, part of CNYC's Culture Camp series. Swing by CNYC between 1-3pm July 25-27 to learn to construct and design your own drum, rattle or walking stick stick.

If you haven't already gotten involved with CNYC's Indigenous Culture Camp, this is a great opportunity! Youth between the ages of 12-25 are invited to drop into CNYC to discuss, explore and share what culture means to you!

This three-day camping trip is geared to invite and encourage the youth to get to know who they are and how they may further connect to their culture. This adventure is the grand finale to CNYC's Culture Camp series, which take place throughout the summer at CNYC. These preliminary sessions will have prepared the youth and provided them with the skills and knowledge for the camping trip, although it is not mandatory to have attended these sessions to get to attend…

CNYC is proud to present youth artwork from our digital storytelling program, Word on the Street (WOTS) at SCYAP Inc. from May 24-June 2nd, 2017. This exhibit showcases both completed and in-development projects made by youth that are registered in WOTS programming.
