CNYC Talking Circle

Our greatest asset is our ability to build relationships and provide a “safe space” for youth in the community. By offering this program every week to the participants, we are able to engage youth who are on the extreme end of being disengaged with the community. Through partnerships with community agencies such as Greater Catholic Schools of Saskatoon and BGC of Saskatoon, we are able to provide a broad range of activities and extra-curricular activities for the youth.

The overall goal of this project is to raise the general health and wellness of youth to a higher level. One objective is to engage and educate youth on essential health topics such as sexual education, tobacco cessation, healthy relationships, proper nutrition and diet for yourself and your family, special topics affecting aboriginal people, disease prevention, addiction issues, and mental health.

Moreover, we intend to create a safe environment for youth that encourages discussion, respect, and learning which will foster cooperation and encourage mutual growth and overall higher attention to and accountability of personal health issues.
